Our Commitment

Malzards Pub & Hurling Experience is committed to delivering digital accessibility for all users and this website has been developed in line with recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These standards have guided our approach to design, content, and functionality, helping us create an experience that is as inclusive and user-friendly as possible for everyone. We will continue to maintain and enhance the accessibility of this website as part of our ongoing commitment to digital inclusion.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. malzards.ie follows many of the guidelines set out in WCAG 2.2 Level AA to support accessibility, with ongoing efforts to enhance user experience across all content. Please be informed of the non-accessible content below.

Non-accessible Content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • Videos: Some videos on our site are used for decorative purposes only. They do not contain essential content and are therefore not required to meet accessibility standards. These videos are visually engaging but do not convey important information.
  • Pseudo-elements: Some visual elements on our site are created using CSS pseudo-elements. These are used for decorative purposes only and do not convey essential information, so they are not required to be accessible.
  • Third-party applications: Some third-party applications integrated into our site are not fully accessible. Despite our best efforts, we cannot control the accessibility of these elements. Those are listed below:
    • Our online booking functionality is powered by FareHarbor. As this is a third-party platform, some accessibility issues within the booking interface may exist and are outside of our control.
    • Embedded Google Maps content may present minor keyboard navigation accessibility limitations due to the use of third-party technology
    • Our FAQ accordion uses ARIA attributes generated by Elementor to support its expand and collapse functionality. These cannot currently be removed without affecting the component.
    • Our Explore Nearby page contains an embedded YouTube video. Some accessibility issues identified by automated testing relate to the YouTube iframe, including ARIA attributes and button labels, which cannot be modified directly.
